The Department of Public Works is responsible for operating and maintaining services related to engineering, roadways, water and sewer, trash collection and recycling, and vehicle fleet maintenance and repair for the city.  The DPW also coordinates Keep Brockton Beautiful Day, an annual neighborhood clean-up held each spring.


The DPW is the contact for the collection and reporting of data and auditing of federal and state emergency funding for hurricanes, floods, wind storms, etc. 


The department also oversees the allocation of Chapter 90 Highway funds as well as expenditures of the state revolving funds awarded to the city for DPW-related infrastructure projects.
