Brockton Public Library announces new hours for 2012

To celebrate the New Year and express our commitment to better serve the residents of Brockton, Brockton Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce new, expanded library hours. Beginning Friday, Jan. 13th, the main library will open Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. That’s eight additional library hours open for your convenience each week.
East Branch and West Branch will both open one additional hour each week. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 11th, the West Branch will open at 2 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. and on Thursday, Jan. 12th, the East Branch will open at 2 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. The branch libraries are opening at 2 p.m. to better assist students with homework help. Free Internet access is available. Please note that children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The following hours will be in effect starting Wednesday January 11th: the Main Library, 304 Main St. will be open Monday and Tuesday 12-8 p.m., and Wednesday-Saturday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.; the West Branch, 540 Forest Ave., will be open Mondays 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Wednesdays 2- 8 p.m.; the East Branch, 54 Kingman St. will be open Tuesdays 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and Thursdays 2 p.m.-8 p.m.
The Brockton Public Library is located at 304 Main St. All programs are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. You do not have to be a resident of Brockton to attend. We are a proud member of Old Colony Library Network (OCLN.) Any resident of Massachusetts can register for a free Brockton Public Library card; bring photo ID and proof of current address to the main circulation desk.
