Mentor Match Program, Partners for Youth with Disabilities
Description:
Mentoring works. Help make it happen. Over 10 Brockton youth with disabilities are on our waitlist; you can be that caring adult that makes a difference in their lives. Our program, the Mentor Match program, pairs an adult (with or without a disability) with a youth that has a disability to serve as a role model and to offer support and guidance. Our matches meet once a month in person at a time and place of their choosing and communicate weekly via email/phone. Additionally, our matches commit to one year. Because our youth are diverse (6 – 24, all disabilities), the specifics of these matches vary, reflecting the goals and appropriateness for each mentee. You can find more information about PYD and the Mentor Match program at: www.pyd.org. To get started, contact Alex Freeman, Mentor Match Specialist, by email (afreeman@pyd.org) or phone (617.556.4075 x 18).
