Team 1: Caring Adults

Mission Statement

To recognize the Caring Adults in the community, to raise awareness of the importance of Caring Adults and to increase their numbers so that more children and youth will have the opportunity to thrive and succeed

It seems simple at first, the notion of being a mentor: someone who spends time with a young person. But once you are in the mentor role, you may find yourself in situations where you are uncertain about your part in the relationship. Here are some basic guidelines to help you determine your role with your mentee. Mentors tips

By involving your son or daughter in a mentoring relationship, you have taken a very important step to making sure your child gets what he or she needs in life. Every young person benefits from having another caring adult in his life—someone who supports your child, believes in him, and can be another person your child turns to when he’s having a tough time.
